1.Try to explain concepts and definitions on your own rather than reading it
Explaining a concept or definition makes it easier to remember rather than trying to read it out loud. Scientists have claimed that you remember more by 60% if you understand it rather than repeating it. I personally used this when I am preparing for a quiz and exam having great results from doing this method.
2. Take a break.
Sometimes, when you are overworking, you need to take a break. If you keep forcing yourself, you may end up negatively affecting your performance in class. So relax if you find an opportunity.
3. Make a summary right after a lesson
This is my favourite habit. Like in my number 1 habit you need to understand the lesson that was taught in your class. Especially if you summarized on your own rather than looking through books and notes.
4. Try to be more active in class.
What I mean by being more active, is trying to answer the questions given by your teachers in class. This little habit may boost your performance or grade if done properly. Even if you make a mistake try to learn from it. So get out there and show em what you got.
5.Challenge yourself.
A quote from Thomas Jefferson said that “If you want something you never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done”. This is how I got smart, by applying this habit. Which is why I am on top in my class when it comes to math.
6.Be punctual.
If your punctual, people would see you as a reliable person. Being punctual is a virtue of being on time. Which is a great thing especially when it comes to time management.
7. Be positive
Thinking about negative things will lead to distraction, stress and sadness. So why try to be positive and push forward if possible.
8. Take notes during class
Taking notes in class is a no brainer task. The best time to take notes is when the teacher is having a discussion outside the book. But be sure to review these notes later on or they’ll be a waste of time and paper.
9. At least sleep 8 hours a day
Like taking a break a healthy sleep habit will help you out in the long run. If not you might end up being tired in class, sometimes sleeping in the class itself. This may negatively affect your performance in your school works. Which lowers your grade. So take a decent nap when you can have it.
10. Focus more in class
Being focus is what makes a human great. A human brain is great at doing one task so try your best to take as much information as you can. Also, avoid talking to your seatmate pr you’ll just get distracted and miss out on important knowledge that is informed in class.
